Mrs. Rahne’s Philosophy of Education

My educational philosophy is that teachers and staff lead by example. It is the duty of the school and the teacher to provide each child with equal opportunities regardless of gender, cultural backgrounds, or learning styles.  I believe that it is important to encourage students to think for themselves and expand their knowledge. It is important to help each student form a solid platform of academic knowledge and personal knowledge of who they are as individuals. It is important for students to develop and practice respect for oneself and respect for others both in and out of the classroom. Each child is unique, special, and deserving of the best possible education they can receive.

I will do this by:

-Providing creative, hands-on experiences

-Teaching the core materials at the appropriate levels

-Creating a comfortable, safe learning environment

-Modeling and promoting good decision making and respect

-Including multiple teaching styles and strategies

-Promoting a multicultural curriculum

-Getting to know each student as an individual

-Celebrating individual differences
