Rules and Procedures

Students will play an active role in selecting our classroom rules. Together we will brainstorm rules that we feel should be enforced in our classroom in order to create a safe and comfortable learning environment for everyone. We will then consolidate this list into 3-5 rules that we will use as our classroom rules for the year. Examples of these rules may be;

-Be safe

-Work hard

-Be respectful

-Be prepared

We will also discuss and practice daily procedures and transitions so students become familiar with them. This will allow us to take advantage of as much learning time as we possibly can.

School Rules

The 3 R's

Readiness - Respect - Responsibility

Discipline:

Our goal in creating classroom rules and practicing procedures and transitions is to help eliminate distracting and unacceptable behavior. In the case where rules are not being followed, or good behavior is not being practiced, parents will be contacted to discuss a cooperative strategy to promote good behavior and following the rules. If this does not work, students will be referred to the elementary principal.
